Job Description – Program Specialist (Luna County)
The Center for Health Innovation (CHI) is seeking a Program Specialist to lead the planning and implementation of substance use prevention programing in Luna County, NM. The Program Specialist works with a diverse community coalition and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating appropriate strategies, community engagement, meeting coordination, data collection, and detailed activity reporting. This position requires a bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in prevention, community development or human services related field (experience may substitute for education).
Responsibilities:
A Program Specialist I within CHI is skilled in leadership, public speaking, and managing projects. They commonly work on reporting projects required by various funders. Program specialists are detail oriented, organized, team players, and can coordinate multiple projects. Since much of the work is done in a hybrid environment between home and community, Program Specialists must be skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in community organization or health and human services or community / economic development.
• 1 year experience / background in rural area (As appropriate).
• Skilled in facilitation, public speaking, project management, project assessment and reporting, detail oriented, organized, team player, and the ability to coordinate multiple project activities and players.
Hours and Compensation: 40 hours per week- salary. $38,000-$50,400 annually. Salary is calculated based upon experience and education. Benefit package available including health, dental and vision.
