A public health data mapping and visualization platform
Public health data is required by many different people and organizations – from legislators and educators, to transportation planners and healthcare providers. The NMCDC open resource data platform offers access to national and New Mexico-wide de-aggregated data and visual data maps to be used in community assessments and engagements, to support funding efforts, or to advocate for policy change.
The platform service was started to address the needs of community advocates that needed to access data that was siloed across state agencies. NMDC brings all that data together in a central location, providing tools and structure so the data can be visualized through maps and graphs for intuitive end user experiences. We offer training to those who need frequent access to data for reporting, planning or grant writing. And we provide access to software which can be out of financial reach for many organizations.
We strive to use the platform for interactive data tools as much as possible so a report for one community might be beneficial to another – saving time and resources. This also allows users to customize and interact with the data they are viewing.
